Product development leader and named inventor on 30+ patents joins engineering team as Commercial Sewing expands its OEM innovation pipeline

Commercial Sewing, Inc. has named Lee Griswold as Product Research and Innovation Manager. Griswold joins from Veto Pro Pac, where he spent six years as Vice President of Product Development, building high-velocity new product pipelines for technical semi-soft goods and mechanical systems.

In his role, Griswold leads the end-to-end product research and innovation pipeline at Commercial Sewing, turning market research, customer insights, and complex OEM engineering challenges into high-performance soft goods and hardware solutions.

“Building out our innovation pipeline is one of our highest priorities, and Lee’s extensive background in human-centered design, technical soft goods, and complex product strategy makes him the perfect fit for Commercial Sewing,” said Eric Blauvelt, President at Commercial Sewing. “Lee brings a rare balance of deep technical expertise and commercial vision, which adds to our strength in designing custom-engineered solutions our OEM partners.”

“I’ve long respected Commercial Sewing’s position as an industry pioneer and their commitment to solving real-world challenges for boat builders,” said Lee Griswold, Product Research and Innovation Manager at Commercial Sewing. “Their patented technologies set the standard for marine protection. I look forward to working with this talented engineering team to push the boundaries of technical design and deliver next-generation products for our partners.”

Griswold brings more than 25 years of product development and design leadership to the team, holding over 30 patents and multiple international design awards across mechanical hard goods, technical soft goods, and consumer product portfolios. In addition to Veto Pro Pac, his career includes senior design leadership roles at ASSA ABLOY and Cannondale Bicycle Corporation.

Griswold’s appointment strengthens Commercial Sewing’s R&D capabilities as the company expands its core portfolio of mooring covers, PWC covers, bimini tops and shade systems, and gear bags, while giving the engineering team greater flexibility to design and manufacture complex solutions for boat builders.
